Dr. Stanley Dermer
S. W. Dermer, BA, MD, FRCP(C)

obtained his MD from the University of Ottawa. He completed his residency at McMaster University, Department of Psychiatry in 1972, including a one year fellowship at the Institute of Psychiatry (Maudsley and Bethlehem Royal Hospitals), University of London, England. Dr. Dermer was the co-founder and Executive Director for Hamilton Program for Schizophrenia and the President of BPS, Inc., a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation program for motor vehicle accident victims. He has taught at McMaster University as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences. His psychiatric practice is now devoted to multidisciplinary occupational health and disability management for public and private corporations.

Leslie Davies-Lilly, MA

received her Masters in Counseling Psychology in 1997. Ms. Davies-Lilly entered private practice and worked in association with other mental health professionals in the Halton area. Areas of experience include: individual, marital, insurance claims-return to work, EAP, and job coaching. After a move to Connecticut, she received her license for Practicing Counselor and worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor. Ms. Davies-Lilly also worked as a counselor to the local high school for adolescents troubled by family issues, behavior problems and addictions to substances. In 2004, she joined the Northwest Center for Children and Families and worked with children with Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Autism and social issues. In 2007, she returned to the Halton Region with her family and is now in private practice, as well as in association with Dr. S. W. Dermer and Associates.

Ron Dolson, BA Sociology

has held senior social work roles in a variety of acute care as well as mental health programs. He graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree (1978). Ron currently has his own practice of Psychotherapy specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Marital and Family Therapy and devotes his expertise in dealing with occupational and organizational challenges.

Ron is the former Director of the Acquired Brain Injury Program Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital. He has also held the senior position of Assistant Administrator Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital and as a member of the senior admin team provided leadership in the guiding of the divestment of Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Former Administrative Director St Joseph’s Health Care Center for Mental Health Services. He is the former manager of the “Regional Mood Disorders Program” Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital Ministry of Health/McMaster University and received the “Gold Award” from the American Psychiatric Association in 1998 in recognition of “melding academic enterprise with clinical services resulting in enhanced quality of care for patients suffering from mood disorders”.

He continues to be on faculty at McMaster University and holds the rank of Assistant Professor Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences and as an advisor in the MD program. Ron is also an active member of the Employee Assistance Society of North America.

Judith Repath, RN, MA

obtained her Counseling Psychology degree in 1997 following her tenure as a Nurse/Manager. Currently, she is the Director of Pathways Counseling Services, providing individual, family, and marital counseling. Areas of intervention include complex case management, job coaching, and desensitization, stress management/wellness programs, anger management, cognitive programs for depression and addictions counseling. She provides assessment and case management services in conjunction with S. W. Dermer & Associates.

Darcy Stanbro-Tweedle, BA, MSW

attended the State University of New York at Buffalo obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She practiced individual, child and family counseling before taking on the position of Quality Manager and then Director of Human Resources at Devereux Arizona. She acts as Assistant to Dr. Dermer regarding client services.
Diane Westcott
Diane A. Westcott, BA

earned her Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from York University in 1978. She worked in market research in the private sector and then in policy development for the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Culture. Ms. Westcott joined Ontario Hydro in 1989, where she held positions of increasing responsibility in Planning and Evaluation, Commercial Operations, Marketing and Sales. Ms. Westcott was Ombudsmen and Chief Ethics Officer for Ontario Power Generation (formerly Ontario Hydro) in 2000.

Ms. Westcott was appointed Director of Wellness and Benefits for Ontario Power Generation (OPG) in April 2002. In this role, she developed and implemented programs that increased employee and management awareness of health and wellness issues, particularly mental health. Ms. Westcott successfully increased compliance with the Disability Management program by a dramatic 30% before leaving OPG in 2006. During the period Ms. Westcott headed Wellness, OPG was recognized as a leader in the area of employee mental health initiatives.

Subsequently, Ms. Westcott began a private consulting practice assisting companies in assessing, developing, and managing their occupational health/disability management programs, with an emphasis on mental health and complex case management.

Dr. John W. Schneider

received his doctorate in Psychology in 1971 from Harvard University, where he studied under a number of eminent psychologists, including Dr. B. F. Skinner, who served as his thesis advisor. After completing doctoral studies he taught advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in learning, conditioning, and operant behaviour at Harvard before pursuing post-doctoral studies in clinical psychology at McMaster University in 1974. From 1980 to 1990 Dr. Schneider was Head of Psychology at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton. He served within the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University from 1975 to 1991, and has been active in clinical practice and community service in the Hamilton area for 29 years.

He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Ontario Psychological Association. In 2004 he was honoured by the Ontario Psychological Association with an Award of Merit, the highest award granted by the Association to its own members. He has published in the areas of behaviour therapy, relaxation training, management of combined brain injury and chronic pain, and professional issues.

Dr. Schneider performs psychological assessment and treatment of adolescents and adults, medical-legal and corporate consultations, independent psychological assessments, and supervision of psychologists for registration with the College of Psychologists. Clinically, he applies his skills with patients whose needs may involve psychological evaluation; neuropsychological assessment; brain injury rehabilitation; motor vehicle or other personal injury rehabilitation; management of depression or anxiety; stress management; couples therapy; sexual therapy; desensitization; conditioning therapies; or supportive therapy. He has been recognized as an expert witness on numerous occasions by Ontario Provincial Court in the areas of clinical psychology, rehabilitation psychology, and neuropsychology.
